NERF Epic Pranks features the player firing various Nerf blasters at unsuspecting people, in order to "prank" them, by holding a finger on the mobile device's screen. There are two types of people players shoot at, those without blasters and those with. Targets without blasters have a visible line of sight, representing where they are looking. If the player is within their line of sight for long enough, they are "caught" and must restart the level. Those with blasters, a CycloneShock, will fire at the player. Both these challenges are avoided by taking the finger off the screen, which makes the player's avatar hide behind a wall or object. The player can customize their avatar, changing their skin, victory dance, and blaster. Skins and dances must be purchased with in-game coins, awarded for beating levels; blasters are unlocked via game progression. In-app purchases Players can pay a one-time 2.99 USD "VIP Subscription" payment to remove mid-game ads; this does not affect that the player must watch ads to unlock blasters, outfits, and dances.[1] Being a VIP player will also allow the player to use the Thunderhawk, and also grants a "Futuristic Hero" skin. The Titan CS-50 can similarly be purchased for use with a one-time 1.99 USD payment
